In AutoCAD, a 2D (two-dimensional) or 3D (three-dimensional) drawing is represented as a two-dimensional image (a planar, flat drawing), or as a collection of three-dimensional objects (a solid, physical object). Most 3D objects may be modeled with geometric constraints, so that they are closed loops (converging and diverging planes, spheres, and cylinders), open loops (tetrahedrons and triangular prisms), or beams (concrete columns). Because of the geometric constraints, the 3D objects can be manipulated with ease (rotated and moved), and it is easy to change their shape. AutoCAD drawings are generally represented using the 3D (as well as 2D) coordinate system, which is the origin at the coordinate (0,0). I’m implementing an N-bit Field-Value Matrix implementation in C++ as a project for school. Currently, I’ve only implemented the main methods in the class, including a constructor and the adjacency matrix representation. I’m trying to use a simple sparse field-value matrix representation but am having a lot of trouble implementing it. For instance, my current adjacency matrix implementation looks like this:
